Peony A.B. Franklin is a large, double blush peony that is fragrant. When the flower first opens it is a bright blush pink and then changes to a white, very lovely flower of beautiful form. Developed by Mr. Franklin in Minnesota. Although the 31” stems are strong they should be given some support because of the large blooms. APS Gold Medal Winner! Plant in full sun. Peony Mahogany is a wonderful Glasscock Hybrid that has a Japanese form that looks like a single but with out any pollen, large cup shaped deep mahogany red flowers very early in the peony bloom season. Sweetly fragrant flowers are held on strong 28- 30" stems. The lighter markings on the out side of the petals become more prominent as the flower ages and the bloom becomes bigger. Light green foliage. Sought after by collectors it is noted for it‘s pale green-gold foliage in the spring. Plant in full sun in a well drained soil. Week 4 bloom date rating. Limited to half a dozen divisions this year and then it will be retired for stock increase until 2016.
