Myra MacRae GM  (Tischler 1967) APS Gold Medal winner bred by Bob Tischler of Minnesota is a great double pink of incredible vigor, blooms midseason to late. Blooms are as large as 8 -9" in diameter even with the neat and tightly packed habit of the petals. In order for a peony to be eligible to win the American Peony Societies highest and most coveted award, the Gold Medal, a peony must now first receive the Award of Landscape Merit. Only 29 varieties received this award for 2009 the first year it was established and voted on by the American Peony Society. In 2010 only 2 recieved the distinction of being given this award. We encourage anyone with an interest in peonies to join the American Peony Society for up to date information on all aspects of peony growing.
