Please note peonies are shipped in the fall as fresh dug roots which is the proper time for planting. Peonies are suitable for growing in USDA Growing Zones 3-8 where a cold winter provides the necessary chilling for setting buds and proper growth. To find your growing zone use a site like the USDA Hardiness Zone Finder at the National Gardening Association web site.
