Peony E.J. Friesen is a large 8" flat type double red on 36" stems fairly strong for the large flower size. Fine foliage, blooms midseason. The flat flower form allows water to drain from the flower to hold it upright when it rains. Plant in full sun. Rare and hard to find very lovely double red. Week 5 bloom date rating.

Peony Early Bird is a darling dwarf plant, abundant, single bright crimson flowers above fern leaf foliage. A rare hybrid between the fern leaf peony P. tenuifolia and P. veitchii woodwardii, very early, usually blooming before the fern-leaf peony and right at the same time as the flowering crabapples. 20".

Peony Festiva Maxima is often substituted with inferior whites with red flares but the true Festiva maxima is a tall massive globular double white with red flares is one of the oldest and still one of the best very fragrant lactiflora whites.
