Mikado (Japan 1893)
The floral presentation in the garden is just wonderful as the flowers are held above the foliage in ahorizontal plane giving a high impact in the garden. Japanese cupped red with rose and yellow center, very floriferous, midseason, tall. Because of its vigor and prodigious flower production it is perhaps one of the most widely grown of all the Japanese form peonies. This one has been handed down in many families and if you are looking to find a long lived and dependable peony that will not flop over in bloom this one is a perfect choice.
Plant in full sun.

Minuet (Franklin 1931)
Very large full rose shaped light pink on long stems perfect for cutting. Late season bloom. The extra long 42" stems make it perfect for a cut flower and it keeps well in the vase. But because of the large blooms and tall stems it should have some support in the garden. If you are cutting for a fresh flower market this is a good one for its production qualities.Plant in full sun.
