Madame Calot (Milleaux 1856)
Like many of the French Antique varieties this one is very, very fragrant! Double very light old rose pink with cream tints in collar and a darker center with red flecks, early-midseason, tall, with strong stems, extremely floriferous with very fragrant large globular flowers, excellent foliage and superb as a cut flower where it's fragrance will enhance your enjoyment of having a bouquet in the home. Mahogany (Glasscock 1937)
Mahogany is a wonderful Glasscock Hybrid that has a single, large cup shaped deep mahogany red flowers very early in the peony bloom season. Sweetly fragrant flowers are held on strong 28- 30" stems. The lighter markings on the out side of the petals become more prominent as the flower ages and the bloom becomes bigger. Light green foliage. Sought after by collectors it is noted for its pale green-gold foliage in the spring. Plant in full sun in a well drained soil.
