Peonies O-P

Species peonies are the darlings of the peony world with their charming and simple flower forms. Early blooming and interesting foliage adds to their garden interest. Supplies of the species are limited and take special care to produce them. To avoid disapointment we recommend you not wait until bloom season to place your order. Our species are always mature divisions, not unproved or unbloomed seedlings that take years to reach bloom size.

Prince of Darkness SOLD OUT  (Brand 1907) Now over 100 years old this dark maroon double red blooms early season. This peony is difficult to find but is a very fine plant and flower although the dark flower benefits from some partial shade during the hottest part of the day. Princess Margaret  (Marawska 1960) Large full double dark pink has an open cup shape that sheds water fairly well allowing the plant to be more resistant to falling over in the garden after rain. Old Faithful  (Glasscock/Falk 1964) Hybrid double dark velvety red with huge roots. For the peony breeder it has one other very distinct appeal on top of it being such a striking large double red hybrid, it will produce viable seed. Strong 36” tall with dark green foliage.
